About Michelle

I am not your guide because I studied this. I am your guide because I lived it.

I know what it feels like to build something real and still feel like you are holding it all together by yourself. I know what it is like when the money does not add up the way it should. And I know what it takes to finally let go, because my life depended on it.

How I Got Here

From corporate finance to the woman sitting across from you.

I spent 10 years in corporate accounting, working my way from junior accountant to senior financial analyst at a Fortune 500 company. I understood how money worked at the highest levels. But when I left corporate and started working with small business owners, something became clear fast. Knowing the numbers is only half of it. The other half is having the clarity and confidence to act on what they are telling you.

I started by helping business owners get their books in order. But what kept happening was this: I would be reviewing the numbers with a client and I could already see what was coming. Cash flow problems. A hiring decision she was not ready for. Growth she had not planned for. I did not want to just show her last month's report. I wanted to help her think ahead. So I started doing that, naturally, before I even had a name for it. That is how Mitchell Consulting was born, and it is how I found my purpose.

My Story

The hospital stay that changed everything.

In February 2020, I was hospitalized with an MS relapse. Lying there, I had one very clear thought. My business has to change.

Up until that point, I was doing everything. Every decision, every deliverable, every follow-up ran through me. I told myself that was just what building something great required. I was wrong.

My health made it impossible to keep pretending otherwise. I could not run a business that only worked when I was in the middle of it. I had to figure out how to actually delegate. Not hand things off and hover. Let go. Not because someone told me to, but because my body was telling me my life depended on it.

That experience did not just change how I ran my business. It changed what I believed was possible. And it is the reason I do this work with you now.

I am you. I have walked in your shoes. I know what it feels like, and I know the way through.

The Truth Others Will Not Say

Most people are not honest about money. And that silence is costing you.

When you start a business without ever having honest conversations about money, you make decisions based on your history with it. Your fears, your patterns, and your story all show up in how you price, hire, invest, and lead.

If we do not get honest about your money story, we cannot make the best decisions for your business. Scarcity shows up. Fear of investing shows up. Playing small shows up. I see it and I call it out, not to shame you, but because naming it is the first step to changing it.

Who I Do My Best Work With

She became the expert in her business. Now she needs to become the leader of it.

The woman I work with is brilliant at what she does. She knows her craft inside and out. But somewhere along the way, being the expert became the thing holding her back from being the business owner she set out to be.

She started this for freedom. Not the 40 or 60 hours a week she was putting in for someone else. But now she is working 60 to 80 hours a week, always on, with no room to think. She is making decisions about pricing and hiring without clarity. She is building a team but cannot let go. And underneath all of it, a scarcity mindset is quietly running the show.

She does not need someone to tell her to work harder. She needs someone to help her see what is actually in the way, and to walk with her as she steps into the leader she already is.

What Changes When We Work Together

She does not just leave with a plan. She leaves with a different identity.

Confidence that she is a good leader

She stops second-guessing and starts showing up with the clarity her team needs from her.

Confidence in her decisions

She knows how to read the situation, trust her judgment, and make the call without running it by everyone first.

Confidence in her team

She has done the work to put the right people in the right roles, and she trusts them to carry it.

Confidence that the business she imagined is still possible

The one that gives her freedom, income, and impact. She can see the path now, and she is walking it.

Beyond the Work

I love deeply, I connect people intentionally, and I will always tell you the truth.

The people closest to me would tell you I do not have a lot of friends, but the ones I have are for life. I show up the same way for my clients. Fully present, deeply invested, and in it for the long haul.

I am a connector by nature. I love bringing the right people together, even when I prefer to work behind the scenes. My family would tell you I am organized, I love to build systems, and I am funny in the most unexpected way.

They would also tell you I am going to tell you the truth. I do not sugarcoat things. But I do everything in love. That is how I work. That is who I am.
